Subungual Exostosis

Abstract

|
Subungual exostosis is not uncommon disease entity which orthopaedic surgeon tend to neglect as a trivial one, even thought it causes a troublesome discomfort and pain. Its etiology is not well defined and various differential diagnosis are
required.
We experienced a case of subungual exostosis in the distal phalanx of the great toe and reporting this case with a review of the literatures. Complete local excision is required, but damage to the nail bed should be avoided.
